"Fergus" aka Mr Ferguson
The Muttly Mascot

FERGUS' STORY

I found myself at Renbury Farm Animal Shelter in 2005 not long before Christmas. I don’t remember how I got there, all I remember was that my owner wasn’t coming to get me!

I waited every day for someone to claim me, but with each passing day, I watched cute puppies & dogs get adopted, while I kept being over looked. :(

How could this be? I have such a spunky personality & so much love to give, but there were just too many unwanted animals & not enough homes.

Just when I was about to give up, talk spread about the ‘joint’ that a name had been placed on me!! I do recall a young lady affectionately scooping me up earlier in the week, but she left me there saying I still had ‘time to do.’

On my final day, the day I would walk the “Green Mile” she returned!! I found out, that with the help of ‘ACT Rescue & Foster’, I had been given a 2nd chance & within days of being my foster mum, ‘Ange’ decided to adopt me!! (I always knew she would, she was so smitten with my Funky Fergie looks!)

So now I’m an absolutely spoilt rotten little fella. I snuggle up with Ange every night & rule the roost. My other doggy friends are all BIG Shepherds, but I have them under my little paw. Same with all the people I meet, I charm their socks off! What I lack in looks, I sure make up with everything else. (I’ve been told I’m the most gorgeous wee scruffer in the entire world!!)

If you are ever looking for a new friend, please visit your local animal shelter or rescue organisation & give a homeless dog like me a 2nd chance.

And If you are not a registered breeder, please desex your doggies, I saw so many unwanted babies in the pound having to walk the ‘Green Mile’, I should know, I was almost one of them.

You can see me getting around at White Shepherd events, and also German Shepherd shows, I’m the ‘mascot’ you see! Be sure to stop & say hi!
